I was introduced to Knappogue Castle by a Canadian Irish friend who felt I needed a proper Irish Whiskey in my single malt scotch collection. 'Twas love at first taste! Knappogue Castle since has occupied a spot amongst my preferred selections. Thank you for an amazing whiskey.
Wow. I experienced Knappogue Castle 1995 for the first time last night. It made me both happy and sad: happy to have found such an incredible whiskey (which is now my favorite drink) and sad that I hadn't found it sooner.

I live in a small town in northern Arkansas, Mountain Home, which is home to one of the best liquor stores I have seen anywhere, Jacks Liquors. While buying a bottle of Tullamore Dew, I glanced over and noticed a bottle of Knappogue Castle (1993 vintage) sitting there. I bought it and have never looked back. I have subsequently thoroughly taste tested the 1994 and am now working on taste testing the 1995 for quality purposes. This is merely a scientific inquiry I assure you but thus far I have had nothing but pure enjoyment.
I came into Knappogue by accident. I was visiting my local store on a busy day and without realizing it I grabbed the bottle next to what I was looking for. Well, when I finally got to the counter and I rang up I realized my error but thought, "What the heck, I'll give it a try." That whiskey I gave a try was a 1994 Knappogue Castle. The most pleasant accidental purchase I have ever made. I went back and bought two more bottles the next day and has been my whiskey choice ever since.
My first experience with Knappogue was at a trip to Aspen, CO with 5 other families. One of the guys brought up a bottle, and we all fell in love with it. That same group of guys meet once a month for a poker night, and the winner from the previous month has to bring a bottle to share. We have yet to have any left at the end of the night!
With the cold weather here in Northeast PA, we have been enjoying a bit of Knappogue whiskey in front of the fire! We first encountered your fine whiskey on a trip to Ireland this summer. We stayed in the Knappogue Castle for 9 wonderful days, during which time our hosts at the castle told us about Knappogue Whiskey. We purchased several bottles on our trip to Dublin...some of which we enoyed with our family while on our visit, and some of which we brought home to enjoy and give as gifts. It is wonderful and we look forward to enjoying it for years to come!
I enjoy the variety of Irish Whiskey brands that are available, though I consider the others a diversion to Knappogue which is by far my favorite. One taste of Knappogue and I am transported in time and space to experience the earth, the water, the wind, the mists and the Spirit of my ancestors’ Ireland.
I have been an Irish Whiskey fan for years. I had been buying Bushmills Irish Whiskey and also Black Bush and also their 10 year old single malt and every now and then their 16 year old single malt...but I love my Knappogue. I just thought I would try Knappogue one time when my ex-boss, who is an Irish Whiskey drinker, was stopping by after work. He agrees with me that Knappogue is our Irish whiskey from now on. Just because you can pay more money does not mean it's better.
Being of Scots-Irish descent, I guess I was born to the taste of good whiskey. At the recommendation of one of the sales staff at the Virginia ABC store, I tried a bottle of Knappogue Whiskey. It is now my favorite tipple.
While in Ireland, my husband brought home a bottle of your Knappogue Castle 1995. It is without a doubt the finest whiskey we have ever had, and we would like to give it as Christmas presents to all our friends!
I discovered Knappogue Castle with the 1990, which I gave out as presents to friends, co-workers and clients about 12 times. Apparently, I turned too many people on to Knappogue, because after that, there wasn't a bottle to be found anywhere... I just bought a bottle of the 1995 for a dinner party. The entire bottle was gone in a couple hours... Congratulations on the 1995 - fantastic!
...Knappogue Castle is one of the finest whiskeys I've ever tasted.
